Well, it's official. We have more orange in our house. I never thought I'd see the day, but I'm okay with it so long as it isn't paired with purple (because of my Gamecock pride, stubbornness?, and all). I mentioned in my post here that I had found some really cute orange fabric that was on clearance. I went ahead and pulled the trigger on fabric.com, and the fabric arrived within 2 days. If you are in the Atlanta area, I would recommend fabric.com because they are local (Kennesaw, GA) and super fast. I'm glad I went ahead and ordered because now the fabric is sold out... guess I'm not the only one who wants orange. Maybe it's that we're all ready for summer with this ridiculous cold/rainy weather lately?
In any event, I'm happy with my purchase. I got to work right away and made my shams and I have a yard of fabric left! Hooray.
I like that the euros now tie in the lamps.
It's all coming together, oh I love this phase of a design! Don't you?
It excites me (but then, I have real problems).
I am scrapping the ikea rast hack idea and plan to use the furniture I've got. Both pieces were my grandmother's, and I love that. I also don't think things need to get too matchy-matchy.
What are your thoughts?
I decided to stack books on the lower nightstand to get the lamps at the same level. So far, no casualties. (hey- law school books do come in handy after the bar, y'all!)
The room took a sharp turn from the original plan I had with gray and blue in subdued and monochromatic tones when I found those orange lamps.
I'm glad I went out of my comfort zone though. I think it's a bright and happy space now.
But it oddly makes me crave an orange smoothie.
To do list (almost done!)
2) make finish velvet bedskirt
4) invite over guests!
