Three Weeks

First off, I want to thank Kirsten over at 6th Street Design School for featuring our house on her blog today. When she asked me about running a feature, I was all "holy crap!" inside, but totally play it cool-yes, you can do a feature on the Houston House... Secret's out, I'm a huge blogosphere nerd. Anyway, go check out 6th Street, you'll love it! I also want to thank y'all for stopping in and reading my words. I love blogging my projects and life events. Especially these days in the midst of full-on newborn baby boot camp, it helps me feel human and creative... and less zombie-like and spit-up covered. Thank you!

Three weeks! I wish I could say time is flying, ha. I hate to wish away days, but boy am I ready to get some solid sleep again. I think 5 hours would feel like heaven!! The past couple nights she just wants to be awake and held. I'm holding her as I write this post...

She still won't sleep flat on her back for more than 15-20 minutes. I've tried and tried, but girlfriend just isn't having it. Her chair or swing will do the trick most of the time. Newborns... :)

She was eating every 2-3 hours, but the past few nights she's been eating almost every hour. I'm guessing it's a growth spurt. TBD.

Although my days are completely consumed with feeding, cat napping, and laundry, I'd be lying if I said the past three weeks haven't been some of the best in my life.

I mean, 2-3-4- and 5am isn't so bad with this face looking up at me.

Although a lot of the early days of parenting fall on the mama, especially when breastfeeding, I'm certainly not in this alone. Hubs will take her throughout the day to give me a quick break- so I can be a human and shower or perhaps brush my teeth.

There's nothing quite like seeing your significant other and daughter sharing a moment like this.

Although she cries, and often, we wouldn't trade her for the world. She is our world. We'd just appreciate a few winks...eventually. :)
