Halloween

Only two months late , HA! I handed out candy at the kids' school this year. It's a fun event for all the kids to trick or treat and see the parents and teachers in costumes! We carved pumpkins, watched Vampirina on a loop, and trick or treated with neighbors. A fun October!

Right after we took our boat out of the water to store on land for the winter. Sad day!!! But these girls were just happy to feed the fish.

Ready for school trick or treating. Mae Mae the fairy, Evans is the princess bride, and obviously I'm living my best life.

Ready for their Halloween party at school!

And trick or treating in the neighborhood! Mae Mae got the hang of it this year!

And just like that, here we are at Christmas. :)

Happy Halloween!

Halloween tradition on IOH lives on!

This year the girls were Anna and Olaf. I had to come up with the Olaf costume last minute as Evans changed her mind from princess kitty to Princess Anna. Go figure.

Olaf Mae Caroline :)

The past 3 years we've hosted Halloween and all walked down to Bluff Drive to trick-or-treat.
Harrison, Cooper, Jackson and Ava.

Ready to hit the first house

Group pictures of children- yeah right!

Sweet little Olaf :) She hung out in the stroller the whole time and was happy as can be seeing all the new faces.

Evans tore right into her first piece of candy and continued on. Had to get fueled for the night ahead. HA!

We went out earlier this year at 5:30 which was PERFECT timing with the little ones. It also was still daylight and the bluff wasn't too crazy crowded yet. We will have to remember this for next year!

The highlight of the night was definitely the Lindleys' house. Last year they did a Candyland theme, which looked just like you had walked into the board game. This year they did Frozen. Which, hello, Evans is OBSESSED. She was speechless, which is rare.

Meeting Princess Elsa

And Princess Anna (to which she said, "hey mama I'm Anna, too!")

She's in awe :)

And Kristoff

And of course Olaf & Sven

So amazing! The kids loved it.

Beautiful Sunset

And the girls on the way home, one singing and one giggling.

We were back to the house by 7:00, and both girls were asleep by 7:45. Success!

I hope everyone had a Happy Halloween!!

Our Weekend

Our weekend was full of fun Halloween activities. This holiday is better as a kid and with kids, am I right? So much fun. Never grow up!

Evans had a field trip to Marshview to trick-or-treat with her class. She wanted to wear her cousin Emily Ruth's kitty cat tutu, so she was a pink-princess-kitty. I attempted face paint on a moving target...

Sissy dressed in the spirit, too! :)

Matching smocked spider dresses- I mean, this is what having two little girls is all about.

Fun with some new treats on the porch...

Sugar highs...

Saturday night I threw my hubby a 40th birthday party at Wyld Dock! I initially had planned to have a party at our house, but the hurricane side tracked that plan and I was left to do a lot of things last minute. It came together though and I found a venue and people were able to still make it, even last minute. Hooray!

Wyld Dock is on the water near our house, and super laid back. I had Wyld Dock do crostini apps, taco bar and collards. Delicious! It was also a costume party!

Hubby and I as Chip(per) and Joanna :)

Iron Man and Katniss

Wayne and Garth

So much fun! Thanks everyone for coming out. We had a blast ringing in the old man's big day.

Sunday was filled with being LAZY.
Evans picked out a pumpkin and we carved him a smiley face.

My cousin Ali pointed out that this picture looks like Evans is posing for Mark as he carves.. HA. It really does.

Put a candle in him and he's ready!

My people

This morning Evans went to school as Princess Anna for another round of trick-or-treating and a class party! She was excited.

Happy Halloween!!
