When we were looking at houses 2 years ago, Hubs really wanted a basement. It was one of our "must haves" as far as deal breakers go. I wanted good school zones, Hubs wanted the man room. A space all to himself. A space to hang all of his sports memorabilia (and the boy has a ton of it). And, I was fine with that. I know how these men folk are. So long as he has his own spot, I can be sure my pretty toss pillows and custom made drapes are staying put. Ha!
But, 2 years later, the basement room has been pretty much a storage unit for us. It's been put on the back burner at every turn, poor Hubs. We decided it was about time to get that room in order. There's not a ton of work that needs to be done to get it together in the short term. Really, it involves ripping out the carpet, laying down new flooring, changing out the bathroom vanity, and moving around furniture. Long term, we'd love to make the walk in closet a mud room and change out the ceiling tiles for a nicer ceiling. But short term, these things are totally cosmetic and not necessary. We sat down and made a list of to-dos, and decided we could to-do it before baby girl arrives. Hubs couldn't be happier.

Although it's a room meant for Hubs, I'm sure baby girl, Blakely, and I will be spending lots of time down there, too.
